Discover the  basic principles and techniques of composting in the setting of a permaculture LAND site community garden.

It’s named ‘black gold’ for a reason; good quality compost is vital for healthy plants and thriving soil but how do we go from kitchen scraps and fallen leaves to dark, rich compost? Composting isn’t as complicated as you may think and the session will take you into the fascinating world of bacteria, fungi and minibeasts; our composting allies.
Join Jack as he discusses:
•	The basics of composting – getting started
•	Different techniques of composting
•	Cold vs hot composting
•	Composting at different scales
•	Harnessing energy – a permaculture context
•	Myth busting and lessons learnt at Glengall Wharf Garden
This will include elements of presentation, discussion, and there will be plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with our composting system.
Cost: £10 
Glengall Wharf Garden workshops are open to all - we do not want access to be restricted due to lack of funds so we have a limited number of free spaces available for each session - please get in touch with us directly.If anyone local would like to join who does not have internet access, or cannot fill in the form for any reason, they are more than welcome to come to the gate to speak to an on-site volunteer, who can take down details for them.
