Ether & Ember: Drawing, Clay & the Spaces Between
A guided collaborative workshop blending drawing and clay: move between charcoal and clay to explore movement, weight and transformation.
This collaborative session brings together gestural drawing and clay embodiment in a single evolving process. Participants will move between stations, beginning with movement-led mark-making and transitioning into clay, or vice versa, allowing each material to inform the next. (Materials will be provided)
Guided by artists Kandre Arámide Hassan and Freda Osayuki Igiogbe, attendees will explore how heat and atmosphere, weight and lightness, imprint and gesture converse across mediums. The workshop highlights transformation as a shared language: what moves through charcoal can echo in clay, and what settles in clay can reappear as line.
Themes: transformation, duality, conversation, material thresholds
Outcome: A paired set of clay + drawing experiments showing cross-material influence.
