As restrictions start to lift and businesses start to reopen, many in society will be looking forward to a return to normal.

Excluded Unity Alliance recognise that there are numerous sectors, many of whom will have been provided with little, if any, financial support who still see no signs of their industries reopening any time soon; indeed many in the events sector were the first to close and will be the last to reopen.

We also recognise the mental health impact that this has had on individuals and will continue to do so in the months and years ahead. It is also with sadness that we know of 23 excluded individuals who have taken the most tragic way out of this situation. Of course, with society moving forwards the Government will move forwards too, without a backwards glance.

Fundamentally, the level of inequality throughout the pandemic has been staggering; with restrictions slowly starting to lift we believe the time is now to make a visual event before there is any further passage of time.

We want the event to provide an opportunity to respectfully reflect upon the lives that have tragically been lost and to give a platform for affected groups to re-engage with MP’s and the media.

We believe it is important for the public and the Government to be reminded of the continued pain felt by being excluded or through enforced industry closure.

The event will take place in London on the 30th June, chosen to coincide with PMQ’s.
