Join Digital Catapult and i2 media research for a fast-paced workshop on designing and evaluating audience experiences of immersive media.

Immersive technologies, virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) have seen rapid evolution over the past few years, at the same time however there has been little in the way of establishing clear methodologies, best practices or guidance for the testing and development of immersive content and experiences.As part of the<a href="https://www.ukri.org/innovation/industrial-strategy-challenge-fund/audience-of-the-future/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Audience of the Future Demonstrator programme,</a> <a href="https://www.digicatapult.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Digital Catapult </a>and<a href="http://i2mediaresearch.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> i2 media research </a>have been studying immersive audiences and evaluating immersive productions. Applying learnings from this research, this online session will explore how to design and evaluate immersive user journeys with cost efficient means and practical tools that can be applied directly to business.The session will consist of a pre-recorded presentation, Digital Catapult will introduce the Immersive Audience Journey toolkit and i2 media research will lead participants through the self-service online <a href="http://i2mediaresearch.com/i2-metrics" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Audience Impact Metric.</a> This 75-minute interactive workshop is led by Professor Jonathan Freeman (Managing Director) and Leah Kurta (Innovation Lead) at i2 media research and Aki Järvinen (Senior Researcher) at Digital Catapult. This informal training session will take place in small groups and will help attendees to apply these toolkits and kickstart audience insights practices into the design of immersive experiences.By designing and evaluating immersive experiences throughout the design process, user-centric and focused experiences can be developed providing a better measure of success and engagement. As an interactive workshop, we want to ensure this will provide meaningful insights, practical tools and ultimately takeaways and learnings that can be applied directly to the design and evaluation of immersive experiences.Agenda:1.
