Evening Art Class:

Evening Art Class:

37 Queen StColchester, England
Monday, July 6  •  6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Overview

An indoor art class to prepare students for outdoor painting. Learning to paint nature part by part, feature by feature.

Ticket includes three classes in July,

Monday evenings, 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm
6th July
13th July
20th July

In this course, students will be introduced to various aspects of landscape painting. With each lesson, we will focus on a specific, characteristic element of the genre, such as rocks, clouds, water, trees and features like animals and human figures in action. Working in the classroom from printed pictures, as opposed to working outside en plein air, will help students get to grips with the challenges of depicting space and mixing colours.

This is a chance to break the ice, to try out new techniques, to work out what it takes to make a good, impactful composition, but in the comfort of the studio, with less pressure. Students should come away from this class feeling well-equipped to go outside this summer, and make pictures of their own from the beautiful countryside around us.

All artist-quality materials are included in the price of the classes.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided.

Location: 37 Queen Street, Colchester, CO1 2PQ
Tutor: Sam Gimson
