Evening on Eggardon Hill
An evening walk around one of Dorset's finest Iron Age hillforts, looking at its surviving features and other nearby archaeological remains.
An evening walk around one of Dorset's finest Iron Age hillforts, looking at its surviving features and other nearby archaeological remains. Hopefully we can also see one of the county's best views, which includes seven other hillforts.
Note: There are a couple of stiles to climb and there is one path that can be slippy. Dogs are requested to be on short leads as there is the likelihood of cattle on the hillfort and possibly in a field we would cross on the way.
Proceeds from this walk will be donated to The British Heart Foundation
Walk Leader: Steve Wallis
Walk length: 2.5 km
Walk start: At the western end of Shatcombe Lane, the junction with Spyway Lane/Barrowland Lane.
