About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

The world of illustration is brilliant and beautiful, but it can also be very confusing and overwhelming – particularly to a first-timer. Perhaps you've just completed a children's book in need of full illustrations, a historical novel wanting a front cover or a poetry collection calling out for an image to accompany each poem and need to know the first steps.

This webinar will help you navigate the world of illustration: where to start, how to start, what to expect and how to deal with the process through to final artwork. We'll cover research, where to look, copyright, contracts, cost and how to make your illustration experience as effective, collaborative and positive as possible.

We'll also tell you about Troubador's own illustration service, through which we help authors find the perfect illustrator for their book and walk them through the journey of getting the artwork briefed, sketched, coloured and completed. We love bringing books to life through illustration, using our portfolio of super-talented artists, and can't wait to tell you more.

There will also be time at the end of the session for any questions.
