Create your own book plate in a completely relaxed atmosphere, where you meet your inner creative side and learn different techniques.n

You are invited to join contemporary artist, illustrator, art instructor Arzu Taylan Ersoz, at a personalised session designed to create an “Ex-libris” which is an ink stamped label bookplate. The personalised bookplate is then pasted into a book, often on the front endpaper, and is a means of indicating ownership. Bookplates can bear a motif relating to the book's owner, such as a coat-of-arms, crest, badge, motto, or a design of an artist or designer. For the book lover, this is a unique means of identification and a reflection of a part of the book owner’s personality. For those who often lend books to others, a bookplate is a means of encouraging borrowers to return them to their rightful owners!During the 2.5 hour session, Arzu will guide and assist you in creating your own designs through a lino cutting technique. Workshop information -There is no need for prior art or creative experience in this workshop. Arzu is equally comfortable working with those who say they can only draw stick figures alongside professional artists. Don’t be embarrassed, whatever your perceived skill level. -The activity takes place in a relaxed environment.-﻿Linoleum blocks, sketch papers, copy paper, printing ink, printmaking paper, lino printing rubber, carbon transfer paper will be provided. Lino cutters &amp;handle set will be provided by the participants .Essdee lino cutters&amp; Handle set or Essdee Lino cutter&amp; stamp carving kit are ideal for this workshop. You can get these set from Cass Art before the workshop with 10% discount. (and so with the lino cutter you will have, you can produce your own works by applying the lino cutting techniques you will learn in this workshop in the future.)-Do wear something in which you are comfortable and be aware that ink is liable to stain clothing – bring something to protect your clothes. -The workshop starts at 12 pm. Please allow 20 minutes before the start time to make sure you have the correct equipment to participate. Cancellation PoliceyIf the workshop is cancelled by Cass art or the organiser a full refund will be paid.Once booked the workshop fee is non-refundable.If you cancel your booking over 14 days before the workshop date, every effort will be made to transfer you to an alternative workshop. If a suitable alternative is not possible, a credit note will be issued to be used at a future date. A﻿bout ArtistArzu Taylan Ersoz is an artist, illustrator and arts teacher with more than 20 years experience. In addition to her arts and crafts qualifications, she has also studied sculpture, etching/engraving, lino and wood block printing and aquatint techniques.
