Learn essential Microsoft Excel skills to help you effectively and efficiently manage your data

Our <a href="https://datawise.london/training/learner-pathway/excel/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Excel Bitesize programme</a> is a modular programme designed to give you the core Excel skills required to successfully manage, analyse, interpret, summarise and present your data.This series consists of 5 sessions of either 2 hours or 2.5 hours each. They will take place on 5 Friday mornings between February and May 2021 (avoiding school holiday dates).The courses will combine some live online and pre-recorded tuition and you will be doing practical activities throughout each session.Unless you have already attended some of the sessions, we would really like you to commit to attending each of the 5 parts of the series, so that you are building on your knowledge each time. This is important so that the sessions flow for all participants and we do not need to go back over topics people have missed in a previous session.If for any reason you cannot make one of the sessions we would ask that you use the resources we give you to catch up on the content before the next session.Course Dates and ContentExcel Bitesize 1: Managing your dataFriday 26th February, 10am - 12.00pm	•	Understanding the Excel ribbon &amp; what's available•	Working with Excel sheets (adding, moving, renaming, colour coding &amp; framing)•	Adding &amp; formatting tables•	Sorting &amp; filtering data•	Adding slicers (visual filters)•	Calculated columns and totals•	Printing Excel Bitesize 2 – Creating a workable data setFriday 12th March, 10am - 12.00pm	•	Conditional formatting•	Identifying &amp; removing duplicates•	Data validation &amp; pick lists•	Standardising data formats•	Using formulas to clean, correct &amp; manipulate dataExcel Bitesize 3 – Analysing your dataFriday 26th March, 10am - 12.00pm	•	Working with Pivot tables•	Formulas &amp; Functions•	Creating a summary pageExcel Bitesize 4: Interpreting &amp; presenting your survey dataFriday 7th May, 10am - 12.30pm	•	Analyse multiple choice questions•	Summarise rating scales•	Code open-ended survey questionsExcel Bitesize 5 – Creating a DashboardFriday 21st May, 10am - 12.30pm	•	Creating pivot tables•	Adding filters &amp; sliders•	Choosing &amp; adding the right chart•	Formatting your dashboardIs this Excel Bitesize Training Programme for me?This is not suitable for people who haven’t used Excel before. It is a pre-intermediate course so aimed at people who have a basic understanding and experience of working with Excel but want to take it to the next level. This session is designed for people using Microsoft Excel 2016 or 2019 on a Windows PC / laptop. If you have an earlier version of Excel or work on a Mac you'll find that some of the features we look at either don't exist or are accessed differently, which can be a bit confusing. To see which version of Excel you are running, click on the File button on the top left corner of Excel. Click on Account, on the left-hand side of the screen, then About Excel and the version is visible in the first paragraph of the dialog box that appears. If you need advice on upgrading to a newer version please get in touch.Am I eligible for this course?This course is fully funded by the Cornerstone Fund for small charities &amp; community groups delivering services in London, and we can only accept participants who work or volunteer for organisations fitting this description.
