This workshop is designed to give you some basic - and not so basic - Excel skills, along with a number of tips and tricks to save you time.

IP-City Centre

This session is designed both for people who are new to Excel, and for those who wish to improve their Excel skills. It will cover number crunching (simple calculations) and data handling. Below is a suggested list of topics. The actual content of each session will be agreed by the participants on the day, so that everyone can take away learning that is relevant to their work. (The number of topics covered will be subject to the time available.) • the Excel screen layout, including the Ribbon and the Quick Access Toolbar• simple calculations (using +, -, *, /)• Undo and Redo• resizing rows and columns• wrapping text• formatting cells• using Comma style• using the Fill handle• using the SUM function• using AutoSum• using the AVERAGE function• on-screen calculations• calculating percentages by creating a simple formula• displaying all formulas on screen• how to copy formulas correctly• naming cells and cell ranges• customising the Quick Access Toolbar• inserting and deleting rows and columns• hiding and unhiding rows and columns• creating a list of data• the AutoComplete feature• freezing column headings• sorting and filtering data• pivot tables• creating a simple chartPlease note that this workshop is for PC users, and is not suitable for MAC users.Your ticket is refundable upon full attendance at the workshop.Refreshments will be provided.Please bring your own laptop.
