Clive Parkinson

This event builds on the 2015 events Chaos & Comfort and 2020+ and the more recent events tied into the launch of the APPG report - Creative Health in 2017 and 2018 - when we had the excellent Maxine Peak's film and advocacy.
So - what's it all about? Well first things first, it's after the day-shift - so it will hopefully enable those of you who want to attend, but find daytime events impossible - the opportunity to get involved.
This event is born of the principle that it's the people that drive social change, those who work in the field - artists, health and social care workers, volunteers and people who 'use' services. In short - the people who are part of this arts and health community because of their commitment and vision - those who see the bigger picture from a place of experience. But it's also about developing opportunities to collaborate, share and explore new ways of working.
So let's think what we might be able to offer each other, and maybe what we need. What skills we have, what passions we are pursuing and even what resources we could share, or need. You might be bursting with ideas, that others could support you with. Individually or collectively - we've so much to learn from each other - and even more potential.
And this isn't about us trying to do things 'on the cheap' - on the contrary - it's about us thinking and doing things differently, gathering momentum and nurturing new possibilities. As I mentioned on the North West Arts & Health Network blog, some amazing collaborations have been formed by meeting up at these events and local and international exchanges forged, so lets see who throws what into the mix and what comes from it.
I’ll try my best to facilitate proceedings - so come along with ideas in mind and we’ll see what develops!
