Let’s get creative at home. Book a free place at the RIBA’s monthly art workshop ‘Explore and Make: Online’ for those aged 50 or above.

<p>In ‘<a href="https://www.architecture.com/whats-on/explore-and-make" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Explore and Make: Online</a>’ you will explore buildings and architecture to inspire your artwork. No experience is required, suitable for all abilities. </p><p>For August&#x27;s artist-led workshop, we will be experimenting with making our own basic drawing contraptions. Please bring materials from the list below.</p><p>This event takes place online.</p><h3><strong>You will need:</strong></h3><ul><li>White paper - several sheets, any size, A4 or A3 are ideal</li><li>Masking tape or sticky tape</li><li>Old rubber glove</li><li>Biros or coloured pens</li><li>Pencils</li><li>String</li><li>Ruler</li><li>Blu Tack or plasticine</li></ul><p>This session will last 45 minutes and is for older people. It will require only basic stationery or household items. Inspiration for this interactive workshop will come from themed images from the RIBA’s world-class architectural <a href="https://www.architecture.com/about/riba-library-and-collections" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">collections</a>  of books, drawings, photographs and archives.  </p><p></p><h3><strong>Additional information </strong></h3><ol><li>Pre-booking is essential, only those who have booked will be accepted into the session. </li><li>You will receive an email with a link to the event two days before and a reminder with a link 20 minutes before the event starts.  </li><li>The workshop will take place online via <strong>Microsoft Teams</strong>. The platform is free to use and download and you do not need to have an account to use the software. You may need to download the software or app for some devices such as Apple branded devices, please check before you attend.</li><li>The workshop will not be recorded, and we ask participants not to record other attendees. For your safety and others, please ensure you have a suitable background or move any personal or identifying items from view. </li><li>We suggest you arrive virtually a few minutes beforehand to identify any potential technical difficulties; participants will be held in a virtual waiting room until the workshop leader starts the workshop. </li><li>This workshop is part of the <a href="https://www.architecture.com/education-cpd-and-careers/learning" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">RIBA’s Learning programme </a> which provides opportunities for everyone to explore, question and celebrate architecture; details of future Explore and Make workshops can be viewed <a href="https://www.architecture.com/whats-on/explore-and-make" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>.</li></ol>
