CBA London is a not-for-profit educational organisation working throughout London to involve people in archaeology and to promote understanding and care of the historic environment for the benefit of present and future generations. It seeks to act as point of reference for all Londoners interested in the past and to be a robust advocate for archaeology within London’s unique political apparatus. From Anglo Saxons to medieval Knights Templar to legal London, discover the secrets and extraordinary history to be found around the Temple

Peter Moore will be leading a tour of this most historic, yet hidden, corner of London. While many historic buildings still survive, archaeological excavations have revealed much about the Saxons, Knights Templar and latterly lawyers who have occupied this site.A key highlight is Temple Church built in the 12th Century by the Knights Templar, and property of the Crown since Henry VIII's 1540 decree.We will also be able to visit Temple Gardens and explore the wealth of historic buildings and features of Inner and Middle Temple, and surrounding areas.Initially booking is open to members of CBA London only. If any remain after the members' priority booking period, we will open booking to the public on 5th September. If all tickets are sold we will open a waiting list. Booking closes on Saturday 13th August.***STUDENT SPECIAL OFFER***We have a special category of student tickets (£5) which include a year's membership of CBA London with the first purchase, including priority booking for future events. Any student in full time education is eligible. Student cards will need to be shown at the event.Our policy is only to give refunds if the place can be filled from the waiting list.
