Explore Trees Through Print - Beech

Join us for a hands-on experience where you can explore the beauty of trees through the art of printmaking. This event focuses on the Beech tree, known as the 'Queen of British Trees', for its assocation with the feminine and abundance and we'll be exploring Beech's identifiable features.

One of the critical skills of deepening our awareness with nature is observation and we will be connecting with the tree, through drawing to document and explore what we see. From noticing the unfurling of a leaf, the texture in the bark or the patterns in a flower or seed, we will be using these drawings to create a lino print, on a fabric square to take home.

This is part of a series of workshops exploring different trees throughout the gardens at Bagshaw, through summer, autumn and winter.

The trees we will be studying are across the season:

  • Elder
  • Beech
  • Sycamore
  • Horse Chestnut
  • Yew
  • Oak
  • Sweet Chestnut
  • Black Walnut

Get creative and learn about the significance of trees in our environment. No prior experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity.
