About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours 30 minutes

The Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI), the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC), and the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) are jointly hosting an in-person, one-day event to explore data curation and data management in physical sciences.

Via presentations and discussions, the event will enable knowledge exchange around current practices, challenges, and future directions in the curation and management of research data in physical sciences, as well as foster networking and collaboration.

The event will highlight PSDI’s work and, importantly, gather community input for identifying future priorities and activities that will support data management and curation in the physical sciences.

The event is part of the PSDI UK Roadshow on Data Curation and Data Management in Physical Sciences. Visit PSDI website to see all the upcoming events.

Event is free to attend, and lunch will be provided. But spaces are limited, so please make sure you register.

More information on the agenda will be available soon.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This event is intended primarily for the academic research community in physical sciences, including:

  • Data repository managers
  • Data stewards
  • Academic librarians and other research support professionals
  • Research technicians
  • Researchers with an active interest in generating, managing, and reusing research data
  • Other data professionals involved or interested in curating and managing data

Our regional focus is on the Cambridge area and surrounding regions.

WHY ATTEND?

  • Exchange knowledge on data curation and data management in physical sciences in the era of automation and AI
  • Contribute your experience and perspective to help shape best practices and community guidelines
  • Connect with professional peers in your discipline and region
  • Discover PSDI’s work, influence its future priorities, and learn how you can get involved

WHAT IS PSDI?

The Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI) aims to provide a data infrastructure that connects existing experimental and computational facilities within the physical sciences and beyond. In the long term, PSDI aims to enable:

  • A platform for data collection, sharing, aggregation, integration, and curation
  • Support for analysis across experimental, simulation, and reference data
  • Combining and enhancing existing data infrastructures
  • Sustaining data resources beyond the lifespan of individual research projects
