Mindful photography is a gentle and creative practice that uses the camera as a way to slow down, pay attention, and explore what’s present, both around you and within you. These online sessions are designed to support people navigating grief, using guided photography prompts, journaling, and reflection to help you connect with your emotions, your memories, and your sense of self.
You don’t need to be a photographer or have any special equipment, just a phone or camera and a willingness to explore. Each 90-minute session offers a safe, supportive space to pause, see differently, and tend to your grief through image-making, conversation, and meaning-making. Whether your loss is recent or long ago, these sessions meet you where you are.
Each session explores one of five grief-focused themes from my Grief in Focus model:
- SEE – Slowing down to notice what’s really there in your grief.
- FEEL – Making space for emotions without being overwhelmed.
- TEND – Supporting yourself with care, comfort, and steadiness.
- HONOUR – Staying connected to what’s been lost through memory and meaning.
- REIMAGINE – Gently exploring who you're becoming and what's possible next.
