"A chance to explore interoception from an autistic person’s perspective"

Join us for an insightful talk exploring interoception – the often overlooked sense that helps us understand the internal state of our bodies – through the lens of an autistic person’s experience.

While there is growing awareness that autistic people perceive the world around them differently, much of the focus has been on external senses like sight and hearing. This talk shifts the spotlight to interoception and highlights its importance in understanding the autistic experience.

About the speaker

Jo Minchin brings a unique and multifaceted perspective to the conversation, combining lived experience as an autistic person and parent, with professional expertise as an autism advocate and NHS professional.

With over 15 years of experience in advocacy and activism, Jo’s work spans from local community initiatives to national roles, including a Vice Chair of the Advisory Group for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Autism (APPGA) and a Director of the National Autistic Taskforce (NAT). Jo’s work has focused on improving services and highlighting best practices to ensure that autistic individuals receive the support they need.
