About this event

There are x2 monthly dates on a Friday and Saturday to choose from for June, July and August - please go to SELECT A DATE to choose.

This is an opportunity open to all. Given space and time each person’s language of artistry finds its way to the paper. Each monthly workshop takes a slightly different focus so people who return are able to continue developing their experience.

This is open to artists and non-artists – those whose artistic ability is highly developed to those who lost their creative confidence back in their school days. These sessions feed a need to be playful and appreciate the pleasure in making basic drawn forms, movements and mark making. We learn and experience the transition from small to large scale making.

The session is 2.5 hrs long and starts with small, timed, sensory drawing activities – designed to engage material and activity – a warm up – easing each person gradually into a collaborative drawing activity. We learn to lean into another person’s mark making. We learn a great deal about ourselves and our making in this process.

The second part of the session you are able to take up a larger piece of paper – expand the scale of what you are making. These sessions are often relaxing, stimulating and reflective, opening out a world of possibilities to take home or into other practices and experiment further.

SESSION DELIVERY: Sarah Goudie is a practising artist based in Stourbridge. She has been running drawing groups and creative activity workshops for over 20 years. She is currently an A-N Bursary recipient – enabling her to develop her practice and interest in slow-process led activities that nurture ‘repair’.
