About this event

It has been two years since we have held these drawing sessions at General Office. We are very excited to take this opportunity to gather and draw together again.

This is an opportunity open to all abilities – there are opportunities to draw by sitting, standing – rolling on the floor! We will focus on the embodied nature of our creativity – given space and time each person’s language of artistry finds its way to the paper.

This is open to artists and non-artists – those whose artistic ability is highly developed to those who lost their creative confidence back in their school days. These sessions feed a need to be playful and appreciate the pleasure in making basic drawn forms and movements.

The session is 2.5 hrs long and starts with small, timed drawing activities – designed to engage material and activity – a warm up – easing each person into a collaborative drawing activity. We learn to lean into another person’s mark making. We learn a great deal about ourselves and our making in this process.

The second part of the session you are able to take up a larger piece of paper – expand the scale of what you are drawing – thinking – dreaming about. These sessions are often relaxing, stimulating and reflective, opening out a world of possibilities to take home or into other practices and experiment further.

SESSION DELIVERY: Sarah Goudie is a practising artist based in Stourbridge. She has been running drawing groups and creative activity workshops for 10 years. She is currently an A-N Bursary recipient – enabling her to develop her practice and interest in slow-process led activities that nurture ‘repair’. www.sarahgoudie.com Email: smgoudie@hotmail.com
