Exploring Poetry Hands on Workshop
This 2 hour hands on workshop invites you to dip your pen into the weird and wonderful world of poetry. A playful tour of style and forms.
This relaxed, 2 hour workshop invites you to dip your pen into the wonderful - and sometimes wonderfully weird - world of poetry. Whether you've never written a poem since school (and even that one was under duress) or you're a seasoned scribbler looking for fresh inspiration, this two-hour session offers a playful tour through a variety of poetic styles and forms.
We'll explore what makes poetry tick - from the compact punch of haiku to the freedom of free verse - through a mix of short, accessible examples, lively discussion, and guided exercises. Expect good company, a few laughs, and the chance to surprise yourself with what you can create.
Duration: 2 hours
Dates: 29 April 2026
Time: 1pm - 3pm
Please come along to the session with a notepad and pen or a laptop - whatever suits you!
You may wish to join our free creative writing circle in the morning prior to this session.
