The Sêr Cymru National Research Network for Low Carbon, Energy and Environment (NRN-LCEE), in partnership with the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) is organising a workshop on Resilience in its widest sense.

The aim of the workshop is to provide a platform for interdisciplinary and collaborative thinking on resilience. We aim to explore the concept inspired by contributions from speakers from a diverse range of disciplines: Ecology, urban and economic resilience, environmental change, disease and antimicrobial resistance, as well as social and psychological aspects of resilience.

This workshop is aimed at a general audience of students, researchers, policy makers and industry.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Limited parking space is available on a first come first serve basis in the car park at Gate 5 at the SSE Swalec.
Pay & display parking is available at Sophia Gardens on Lower Cathedral Road, a 5 min walk from the stadium.
If you have a disability and require parking close to the entrance, please contact us to reserve a space.

Is lunch provided? What about travel expenses?

Lunch and refreshments during the day will be provided at no cost to pre-registered delegates. Any special dietary requirements can be logged with your registration.

Places for the workshop are limited and participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the maximum audience have been reached, we will establish a “reserve list” and should places become available individuals on the reserve list will be informed.

We cannot support travel of delegates to the workshop. However, if you are a member of the Royal Society of Biology, you may be eligible for one of 20 travel bursaries up to £100 each, to support 2nd class rail travel.

In order to apply, you must be registered to attend. Please send your confirmation of registration in an email to policy@rsb.org.uk with mention of your full name and preferably RSB membership number, and ‘Exploring Resilience travel bursary’ in the subject heading. Up to £100 can be claimed for 2nd class rail travel only. Priority will be given to members who are resident of, working in, and/ or registered for a degree in Wales.

Successful applicants will be provided with a form through which they can claim back their expenses after the event (purchase receipts of rail tickets are required).

Can I update my registration information?

Yes. If you need to amend your details or cancel your registration you can do so through this website, or by contacting s.j.vanwijk@bangor.ac.uk.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is this a problem?

Please update the registration details with the correct name. If you need to change the details within two weeks of the event, please contact s.j.vanwijk@bangor.ac.uk.


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

There is no need for this.
