Event description

Description

This is the launch event for the new research group, Media Histories: From Manuscript to Digital, within the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures.

Our research group has various strands which we are developing, including manuscript practices, visual aspects of texts, and translation, and we have selected one of our strands for the focus of this launch event.

In future years, each of our main events will foreground another strand of the theme, and we will also have smaller, regular meetings throughout the year which will ensure all strands of our theme are covered.

This event will be focussed around one of the strands of our research group, and will explore the interface between Modern Languages and Digital Humanities, highlighting in particular what the distinctive contribution of Modern Languages to digital research can be.
