Exploring the River Bulbourne’s Invertebrates
Join us for an afternoon celebrating the fascinating tiny creatures that live in our rivers!
The Great Big Green Week is back in 2026!
This free event is designed for anyone who wants to know more about chalk streams and the wonderful wildlife that lives in them.
There will be a short discussion about chalk streams and their importance, followed by some practical river dipping exercise.
We will look at what we find in the Bulbourne and we will learn how to identify some key invertebrate species....all of this, having fun!
Bring your wellies if you want to go in the river (only at calf height) or just watch us while we collect samples and then learn with us what species we find in the river.
Kids very welcome supervise by parents!
Bookings are necessary to plan enough equipment, but pop in and have a chat even if you haven't booked.
See you all there on the day!
