Time: 10:30 AM

Location: Cambridge Dance Studio

No dance experience is required, just bring yourself and an open mind and heart. Let go of your inhibitions and let the music guide you as you explore the depths of your inner self.

Awaken. Move into the Divine Feminine. Embrace new beginnings.

Spaces are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot now. We can't wait to dance with you!

You can expect a warm welcome and safe space to freely express your emotions. This is a beautifully freeing experience. Allowing you to release pent up feelings and open your heart to love.

What you'll experience...

  • A warm welcome
  • Guided moving meditation to settle into the space and connect to Self
  • Expressive dance, a blend of choreographed and self-led movement inspired by interpretive contemporary dance to beautiful music that stirs the soul
  • Sound bath guided meditation relaxing on mats
  • Closing mantra

This is a completely new and unique experiential practice, led by ex-professional dancer and choreographer, Claire Buttrum of Somatic Harmony Healing.

Restore. Surrender. Move into Flow.

Frequently asked questions

What is expressive dance?

Expressive dance is simply a dance led by our emotions and feelings. We focus on sensation rather than how the movements look. It is all invitational, so you can adapt as you need to. I blend short choreographed pieces with moments for you to freely express through your own self-led practice.

What does somatic mean?

Somatic is feeling through the body and connecting to your body through the movements.

What should I wear?

Clothes you can move in, like yoga pants, leggings, or tights and shorts. We dance barefoot which helps with grounding and connecting with the floor, aiding balance.

What should I bring?

Bring a yoga mat, water, a blanket for meditation at the end, layers of clothes as you'll warm up when we start moving and cool down when we relax.

Is this like sober raving?

No. This is more like a contemporary dance class that is accessible to all body types and experience. I guide you through a short choreography and incorporate space for you to freely express through your own movement or repeat the sequence we have learned together.

What kind of music do you play?

I am more drawn to slower music that stirs the emotions. While I lovely ecstatic dance and sober raves to house music, this class has a different vibe making contemporary dance accessible for everyone to enjoy.
