Dr Ali Hilmi is a Specialist Endodontist known for his thoughtful, patient-centred approach and his passion for education. With a strong academic background and extensive clinical training, Ali brings a unique perspective that blends scientific rigour with practical, real-world dentistry.

Ali qualified from King’s College London Dental Institute in 2008, where he also earned a BSc in Neuroscience for his research into neurological disease. After completing foundation training through the prestigious London Deanery, he gained experience across both NHS general practice and hospital settings, including Guy’s Dental Hospital.

A Committed Dental Educator

Education has always been at the heart of Ali’s work. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Education and a Certificate in Mentoring, and has served as a clinical teacher at Guy’s Hospital and an Educational Supervisor for the London Deanery. He continues to run courses and clinical teaching sessions for GDPs across the UK.

Specialist Expertise in Endodontics

Ali completed advanced training in Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry before undertaking the Specialist Endodontic Training Programme at King’s College London, where he earned an MClinDent with Distinction and later achieved the MEndo from the Royal College of Surgeons (England)—the highest clinical qualification in the field.

His clinical practice includes the management of complex endodontic cases, both surgical and non-surgical. He has a particular interest in the use of 3D imaging and the treatment of compromised teeth, helping patients and dentists alike explore whether a tooth can be predictably saved.

Academic Contributions & Research

Ali’s research has been published in top peer-reviewed endodontic journals, and he has contributed to multiple textbooks on the subject. He is regularly invited to lecture, teach, and mentor clinicians looking to improve their diagnostic and technical skills.
