About this event

Jo Perkins is an artist based in rural Scotland making bright, joyful paintings in response to her local landscape. Fascinated with colour and how it makes us feel, Jo often explores saturated palettes that reflect both her emotions in regard to the landscape and the changing seasons. Using pattern and shape she is constantly working to establish a visual language that describes these experiences.Compositions are created both from life and imagination then translated to canvas in an expressive and intuitive way using acrylic and other media. You can see examples of her beautiful artwork on her website, along with more information about her teaching practice.

Join Jo Perkins for a weekend of colour, mark and expression! Experiment with mixed media and mark making techniques to loosen up and create abstracted, joyful floral paintings. You will quickly delve into colour mixing and creating a rainbow of vibrant colour using just 5 tubes of acrylic paint, making colour easier to create and enjoy

You will be working from both loose floral arrangements and photos in the studio. It will be a wonderful midsummer weekend reveling in all the fabulous inspiration that nature has to offer!
