At the heart of FACE’s work is the belief that centering anti-Blackness challenges and protocols benefits all racially minoritized staff and students, creating a more inclusive environment. We also recognize the power of the intersection between fashion, the arts, and academia as a driving force for social change. Through this unique lens, FACE strives to dismantle systemic barriers, amplify marginalized voices, and foster meaningful progress in both educational institutions and creative industries, working towards a more equitable and inclusive future.

FACE Community is an opportunity to openly discuss issues concerning race, colour and ethnicity in FE and HE. In our second Community Event, Face Members Benita Odogwu-Atkinson, Nicholas Dunn and Lorraine Henry will be leading the discussions surrounding the UK Governments targeting of Critical Race Theory - Is this another way to block addressing structural inequality? Do we understand what it is and its implications for fashion educators and learning communities? We promise it will be an engaging and lively discussion.
