Event description

This course has been written for Development Trust Association Scotland (DTAS) to give a practical overview of Facilities Management. Delivered by external consultant Beth Goodyear, with over 24 years of experience managing buildings and teams.

For anyone working in an operational role with facilities management responsibilities, the course will provide guidance, resources, tools and tips to help them in their roles.

Areas covered will include:


  • Day 1: The role of FM, FM strategy, managing buildings, financial management, service improvement and service delivery.


  • Day 2 will cover H&S, contract management, managing projects and change. Also sustainability and customer service.


There will be group discussion, individual exercises and group exercises and plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share experiences. The workshop will run from 9:30-16:00 on both days; with three scheduled breaks as detailed in the Agenda.


Trainer information: Beth Goodyear

Beth is a Facilities Management (FM) professional with over 27 years’ experience of managing buildings and teams. With an established reputation as a respected Trainer, Consultant and professional speaker, Beth is passionate about creating training solutions that engage and inspire!

Prior to starting FMHS Consulting in 2006, Beth held a number of high-profile roles including Head of FM at Ascot Racecourse where she brought the FM department into the 21st century - the impact of the changes made were so successful, the patron at that time, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, noticed and passed comment!

As a recognised trainer and speaker specialising in FM, H&S and Mental Health, Beth is a MHFA England approved mental health Instructor and a licensed IOSH H&S trainer.
