Fail forward: Crisis Management
Leeds Beckett University - Student Connect Networking Event
Crisis Management: Leading Through Uncertainty
When things go wrong, real leaders step forward.
Join us on 11 March (4:00–7:00 PM) in the Hatchery (RB323) for an engaging and practical session focused on crisis management, exploring how to respond, adapt and make strong decisions when plans fall apart.
In fast-moving industries and entrepreneurial journeys alike, challenges are inevitable. What matters is how you respond. This event will unpack how setbacks, pressure and unexpected obstacles can become defining leadership moments rather than breaking points.
You’ll hear from:
• Daniel Hanslip, who will share real-world insight into navigating professional challenges and making confident decisions under pressure.
• Professor George Lodorfos, Dean of the Business School, offering a leadership perspective on managing complexity, uncertainty and high-stakes situations.
Together, they’ll explore:
- How to stay composed and strategic in moments of crisis
- Turning setbacks into opportunities for growth
- Making confident decisions when the outcome is uncertain
- Building resilience in business and leadership
The session will also include an interactive crisis competition, where you’ll work through a live challenge scenario, with prizes up for grabs. Expect energy, collaboration and some fast thinking.
We’ll finish with informal networking, giving you the chance to connect with speakers and peers, share ideas and continue the conversation.
