About this event

Have you ever wondered how the lovely meat, fruits and veggies you love get to your plate?

Come and join us on the 11th of May in a family visit to one of our local working organic farms trying to bring more balance to the process of food production with less impactful ways of managing their farms.

In this visit to Collings Hanger Farm (Prestwood), you and your children will be guided by the head farmer in a walk around the farm’s fields. She will explain how crops are planted and animal stock cared for and the impact of food on our environment.

We will welcome around 15 families with children of 4-12 years and there will be plenty of time for exploration and questions from the little ones. Bring your wellies and be ready for a fun day out!

Her principal product is organic beef for M&S but she also has some sheep and feeds piglets. She will introduce for the visiting families how she, as part of an AONB conservation cluster, is already working on producing food in a way that is kinder to nature and less polluting.
