Tilhill’s Wales webinar shows how farming &amp; forestry work together. Tilhill, the UK’s leading forestry management company is delighted to be announcing a free public webinar dedicated to farmers and land owners in Wales.The online event for farmers, landowners and forestry investors will answer questions such as: <ul><li> How farming and forestry can work more closely together. </li><li>Can trees and food be successfully grown on the same farm? </li><li>What woodland creation funding opportunities exist in Wales? </li><li> Is woodland creation a good use of land? </li><li>How can you earn an income from timber? </li></ul>The Webinar, entitled ‘Farming &amp; Forestry: Making Trees Work For You’, will feature a pre-recorded interview with special guest speaker Huw Owen from ‘Wood Energy Wales’ who has taken his farm from an uncertain future in livestock farming to a £2 million timber processing operation. The Welsh event will be chaired by Tim Liddon, Tilhill’s Forestry Director, Tim grew up with forestry in South West England where his father owned a forestry business. He studied Forestry at Aberdeen University and joined Tilhill as a forest manager in 1980. He has enjoyed the challenges and opportunities the industry has had to offer over the last 40 years. The live webinar will feature expert presentations and case studies on the multiple benefits of farm diversification with trees from Tilhill’s Wales &amp; Marches Regional Manager, David Edwards who has worked in forestry since graduating from University of Aberdeen in 1984. David has a broad breadth of forestry experience, landscape contracting and utility arboriculture. He is a longstanding Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF) and was elected President in 2017. Iwan Parry, Tilhill’s Area Manager for Wales is a multi-award winning Chartered Forester and currently Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Foresters Wales Regional Committee. Iwan has the benefits of communicating in both English and Welsh. Attendees will be able to ask their questions to be answered by the panel during the webinar.
