Specialist F2F full-day training on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), covering risks, recognition and support for professionals.
This F2F training is aimed at professionals working within the medical field and Children’s/Adult Social Care, external drug and alcohol workers, and social workers. It offers a deeper understanding of the risks associated with alcohol exposure during pregnancy, how to recognise FASD, and how best to support individuals and families.
The training includes:
- Understanding brain development – comparing typical development with alcohol-exposed brain development
- Exploration of the Iceberg Model of FASD to support discussion and awareness
- A safeguarding-focused case study to apply learning in practice
- Guidance on recognising facial features associated with FAS
- Insight into placenta–alcohol transfer and its impact
- A strong focus on trauma-informed, non-judgemental approaches throughout
This is a one-off F2F specialist training session with limited spaces available.
