(FASHION) HACK THE BINARY
Overview
(FASHION) HACK THE BINARY is a workshop that explores queer identity, gender non-conformity and reclamation via the power of self-expression. What do our clothes say about us? How can we craft our expression into a way that transcends the gender binary and brings forth queer and trans visiblity?
Bring a clothing item with you to hack using DIY and craft methods – create a wearable piece of art that tells your queer (hi)story.
Additional info:
All craft supplies provided on site. All participants encouraged to bring a clothing item (this can be an accessory too). There will be a small selection of clothes on site to choose from.
Completed DIY pieces will be hung up in the space to build a living archive of queer existence for others to explore over the course of FASHION CLASH festival.
Booking a free ticket is essential.
This workshop is led by Santi, Founder of G(end)er Swap - the UK's first LGBTQ+ style outreach initiative that supports trans and gender diverse people to access style pop ups, workshops and digital resources.
