Fathom
Fathom is an event open to any women wanting to engage with God and see how it applies to our lives in a relaxed environment.
Bible Teaching for Women by Women
Saturday 16th May, 9am-12pm
Union Church - based at Philadelphia WRC building (Upperthorpe Rd, S6 3EA)
Fathom is open to any women wanting to engage with God's word. At these events, we have a commitment to teaching from the bible, and seeing how it applies to our lives in a relaxed environment.
This time, we're glad to invite Anna Price who will speak on the topic of Subverting Weakness.
Anna is a parent of three teens and married to Matthew Price who is the vicar of St Mary Magdalene church Gorleston, where Anna is employed as the Community and Discipleship Lead. She has trained in theology at Oak Hill College, spent 6 years on mission in Lithuania and Uganda, and also experienced life threatening breast cancer. In this current season, she's experiencing the joy of church growth through holistic, community-centred ministry.
On 'subverting weakness' Anna writes:
Whilst equality between men and women perfectly reflects the image of God, there’s no denying the often lived reality of our weakness as women. Sometimes it hits us between the eyes - when we become tearful in a meeting full of men or find we are treated as an ornament rather than a serious contributor. Other times it maybe a more subtle realisation that we are losing our own personhood and life as we find meeting the needs of our children or ailing parents overwhelms who we are or might be. Together we will explore the wonderful reality of the upside down nature of the kingdom and the choice of God to turn our weakness into His strength.
This is a FREE event, but please register if you hope to attend.
