#FE Research Meet

Havant and South Downs College

"For practitioners, by practitioners" - an opportunity to listen, share and reflect on research stories in Further Education 

This event, organised in partnership between Colege Sir Gar, Coleg Ceredigion and HSDC, is designed with the practitioner in mind. Each session will present an individual research journey in a short, sharp 20 minute session allowing time for guests to ask questions and reflect on their own practice. The core outcomes of this event are collaboration, innovation and "takeaways" - i.e. the opportunity to see practical applications of innovative research in the classroom and consider how these could be applied easily in different educational settings.The opening keynote will be delivered by Jodie Pinnell and Richard Poole from the University of Portsmouth. Both started their research careers in FE and their session will be called "Collaboration and Close to Practice Research in FE"There will then be two rounds with four break out rooms where guests will be able to choose from a variety of themes (TBC)The closing keynote will be delivered by Mark Beetlestone, the Technology Enhanced Learning and Resource Manager at Fareham College. He will be talking about his research journey and his session will be called "People not Products - Research Informed Approaches to Implementing Technology in Practice"Once you have confirmed your attendance, and the registration has closed, you will be sent a form so you can select your preferred break-out sessions.A Zoom link will also be sent closer to the date of the event.
