Derren joined Woodcut Media from London Live where as a commissioner he oversaw documentaries working with the industry’s brightest new directing talent.  
Derren’s role at Woodcut is development and strategy, securing commissions and identifying co-production as well as programme finance opportunities for their non-scripted and scripted slate. Derren has worked with Idris Elba on Cut From A Different Cloth, and Mandela, My Dad and Me, and his other executive producer credits include: Alfie Allen’s Story of Football, The Ivy, Around the World in 80 Tricks, Kate Middleton: Heir We Go Again.
Derren is also the Consultant Executive Producer on the feature length documentary Generation Revolution. Produced and directed by Usayd Younis and Cassie Quarless it charts  the evolution of a new generation of black and brown activists in London, delving into their personal and political awakenings, breakthroughs and disillusionment.
