February Half Term: Taste Detectives

Taste Detectives at Warwick Library
Taste Detectives is a hands-on workshop and healthy eating adventure for young sleuths aged 4–11. Children will explore the mysterious world of flavour and texture through playful investigation, tasting activities and creative craft. Junior detectives will examine fruits from seed to smoothie, test their senses by guessing flavours using smell and taste, and even design their own edible detective character! This fun, food‑themed workshop is packed with delicious discoveries, encouraging confidence, curiosity and creativity through drama, play and craft.
This event is great for:
- Developing healthy eating habits and learning about food, flavour and texture in a fun and imaginative way
- Exploring creativity and building confidence through sensory play and hands-on making
- Meeting other young detectives and enjoying shared activities
- Discovering what our libraries offer
Time: 10am - 11am
Date: Friday 20th February 2026
Age: 4-11 years olds - not suitable for children under 4(Please note: children must be accompanied by an adult at all times)
Booking: Booking essential (Book one ticket for each child attending)
This session will involve handling and tasting food items - please make sure to specify food allergies and dietary requirements when booking.
This programme is partly funded by the Warwickshire HAF (Holiday, Activities and Food) programme. In line with DfE reporting requirements, we request name and DOB for all participating children/young people. This information is used only to monitor overall percentages of children receiving free school meals/not in receipt of free school meals who are accessing HAF funding.
