Event Description

Felting is a tactile, expressive craft that transforms raw wool into beautiful, functional, and artistic pieces. Felting is both practical and deeply creative, it is rooted in ancient traditions and is used for everything from clothing to sculptures.

In this workshop, Rosen will introduce you to the magic of felting. You'll learn how to manipulate wool fibres using different felting techniques, creating a small handmade piece to take home. Whether you’re drawn to felting for its rich history, its creative possibilities, or simply as a soothing hands-on craft, this session is a great place to start.

About the host

Rosen is a butch lesbian and fibre arts hobbyist based in London. They enjoy knitting, crochet, embroidery and felting, and teach and tutor in these crafts. They love the rich history of queer community and feminist activism embedded in fibre arts practice, and enjoy sharing these skills and traditions with new people.

What You’ll Learn:

🔹 Hard Skills: Felting techniques, working with wool, shaping and texturing fibres
🔹 Soft Skills: Sensory awareness, patience, creative expression

Why This Workshop Matters:

Felting is a grounding, meditative craft that encourages slowing down and working intuitively with natural materials. It’s an accessible way to engage with textile art, offering a creative outlet that can be both relaxing and deeply satisfying.
