Is FERAL a safe space?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards any abusive, inappropriate or offensive behaviour. FERAL is a night to centre and celebrate queer women and the non-binary community, any behaviour that does not respect the venue, venue staff, FERAL team or attendees will not be tolerated.

Will there be tickets available on the door?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a small batch of tickets will be available on the door for £10 each, but we encourage you to pre-book at a cheaper price and for guaranteed entry!

Is the venue accessible?

Accepted Answer

The Mash House is situated halfway up Hastie’s Close only accessible via a staircases. There is a hand rail on the right-hand side (if coming from Guthrie Street) the length of the staircase. The main room is accessed by 4 stairs down from main bar, and there are no accessible toilets in the venue.

What should I do if I have accessibility requirements?

If you have accessibility requirements you would like to inform us about, please get in touch on Instagram at @girlsgoferal or by email at girlsgoferal@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate you. Alternatively, feel free to speak to one of the FERAL team or venue staff on the night.

Are the toilets gender-neutral?

Yes, Mash House has toilets with stalls only, and stalls & urinals which are available for everyone to use.

Is there a cloakroom?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately there is no cloakroom available at the venue, but don't let this discourage you, the harder you dance the warmer you'll be so you won't even need a jacket by the end of the night!

What safeguarding policies do you have? 1/3

Accepted Answer

The FERAL team and venue staff reserve the right to refuse entry to or remove anyone who we believe is not acting in the good faith of the event or poses a threat to the atmosphere, venue, venue staff, FERAL team or our attendees. All venue managers are trained in First Aid.

We have coordinated with the Mash House to ensure that safeguarding, accessibility and a zero-tolerance policy to any inappropriate or offensive behaviour are central to the night. If you feel unsafe or need support at any point, we keenly encourage you to approach the FERAL team or venue staff.

What safeguarding policies do you have? 3/3

Accepted Answer

We have organised to have a safe, quiet and private space away from the two main rooms. If you would like to access this space on the night, please approach a member of the FERAL team or venue staff and we will support you to access it and with any requests you might have or support you might need.

Question 10

What should I do if someone behaves inappropriately or offensively towards me?

Accepted Answer

If, over the course of the evening, anyone behaves inappropriately or offensively towards you, please report this behaviour to a member of the FERAL team or the venue staff as soon as possible. This is so that we can ensure that this person is removed and that any necessary further steps are taken.

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

Yes, refunds will be available until 7 days before the event, this is to ensure that any last minute cancellations don't hurt the event and to ensure that no one misses out on attending. After that 7 day mark, we would encourage you to resell your ticket privately or gift to a pal!
