Join in, with The Conservation Volunteers in South Yorkshire!Volunteering is a great way to get outdoors, meet new people, and learn new skills.Help us maintain and improve valuable habitats and green spaces across Barnsley, Doncaster, and Rotherham.Working in partnership with The Land Trust, our volunteers help us to manage eight community woodlands across South Yorkshire – Former industrial landscapes that have been regenerated for the benefit of wildlife and local people.

Ferrymoor Way

Himalayan Balsam is an invasive non-native plant species which spreads along waterways, competing with native plant species and leading to bank erosion. Help us tackle tackle Himalayan Balsam on Ferrymoor Flash, a lovely little green space in Grimethorpe, Barnsley. Join us and learn how to identify Himalayan Balsam, and how to deal with it so that it will hopefully not return. No experience required.Tea and biscuits provided.Long sleeves, long trousers, and sturdy shoes are advised for working on uneven ground amongst nettles and brambles.On street parking is available along Ferrymoor Way.
