Film Pride Masterclass

Building on the success of our first project working with young people affected by self harm and suicide, Write Minds are delivering an LGBTQIA project, continuing our work supporting people from communities that are most affected by mental health difficulties.Taking place in Nottingham from July 23rd to 27th for the week leading up to Nottingham Pride, Write Pride is a series of workshops and events exploring and celebrating the work of LGBTQIA writers from 5 writing disciplines: prose, film, song writing, poetry and theatre. Each day will also include an evening celebration event.

He has spent the past 20 years  </SPAN><SPAN>being commissioned to write for the UK's biggest TV, film and theatre </SPAN><SPAN>companies including the BBC, Channel 4, Sony, Working Title Films and </SPAN><SPAN>the National Theatre. His Christina Ricci movie, Miranda, won the </SPAN><SPAN>Audience Award (main prize) at London's Raindance Film Festival and he </SPAN><SPAN>is currently Writer-in-Residence on the Chatham Placemaking Project, a </SPAN><SPAN>£4m government regeneration initiative. </SPAN></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV CLASS="_1mf _1mj"><SPAN><SPAN>Rob's play about two women falling in love online received kind reviews </SPAN><SPAN>in the broadsheet and his monologue, 'The Man with the Absurdly Large </SPAN><SPAN>Penis' was a sell-out. </SPAN></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV CLASS="_1mf _1mj"><SPAN><SPAN>This year, Rob wrote Dominic West's voice-over </SPAN><SPAN>for the film 'After 82' about HIV survivors. To celebrate LGBT History </SPAN><SPAN>Month 2018, his stories were performed at Leyton Orient Football </SPAN><SPAN>Stadium. One show took place in an old abandoned changing room built in </SPAN><BR><SPAN>1937, when being gay was illegal.</SPAN></SPAN></DIV>
