Having an idea for a business or social enterprise is a great start. But you how do you know your on to a great thing? You don't until you start!
This Start & Evolve talk will look at what it takes to turn your idea into a reality, understanding what core concepts you need to understand in order to have a BIG idea,
The talk will be delivered by Peter Harrington, founder and managing director of Venture Simulations, which developed the multi-award winning business simulation game SimVenture. With over 10 years’ experience running businesses, he has a sound understanding of business, enterprise and entrepreneurship. He also writes the SimVenture Blog, The Hitchhiker's Guide to Entrepreneurship.
This event is apart of Startup Europe Comes to Universities - SEC2U
The main objective of the SEC2U events is to showcase the commitment of European universities to create a strong culture of entrepreneurship and innovation that is spreading in the university community. And as result transferring it to the society by creating startups and spinoffs with high added value, based on knowledge and technological development.
Student Enterprise organise events, workshops and start-up schemes to help LSBU students and recent graduates develop skills and start or grow their own businesses.
This event is part of the Start & Evolve series of enterprise events at London South Bank University.
Refreshments are provided and there will be an opportunity to network. This event is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
This event counts towards a Certificate in Enterprise and the Student Enterprise Award.*

What is a Start & Evolve event?

*What is the Certificate in Enterprise?
LSBU students and alumni can obtain a Certificate in Enterprise by taking part in six Student Enterprise activities throughout the academic year. Please ensure that you sign in on the registration sheet when you arrive and at the end of the session, get a stamp on your Loyalty Card to help you to keep track of the events you’ve attended.
*What is the Student Enterprise Award?
New for this academic year! LSBU students can obtain a Student Enterprise Award that demonstrates their commitment to developing their skills and focusing on their future goals. Students must have already gained a Certificate in Enterprise before starting work on their Award. You can complete the Award across the duration of your degree, building your skills and knowledge throughout your time at LSBU.
How do I get a Loyalty Card?
You can collect one of these at the registration desk at each event
What support is available to students who wish to start a business at LSBU?
We offer exciting workshops, start-up programmes led by inspirational speakers and competitions to help you to get your business off to the best possible start, and keep it going.

I am not a Student or Alumni of LSBU. Can I still attend the event?
Yes, our events are open to members of the public. All we ask is that you come with the willingness to learn something new and an entrepreneurial mind-set.
What are my transport options getting to the event?
By train and tube – Southwark and Elephant & Castle stations are a 5 minute walk from LSBU’s campus. We do not offer parking. See a map of LSBU’s campus.
Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?
No – please turn up at the room and address specified on the events page and give your name to the staff member at the registration desk
