A family nature adventure & crafts workshop in a tranquil setting. Professional photo opportunities available.

Finding Fairies

Saturday 20th June | 10:00–11:45am

Step into a world of imagination, nature and gentle magic…

We’ll begin our morning gathered together for a short story to set the scene, inviting children (and grown-ups) to open their eyes and imaginations. From there, families will head out on a nature quest through the tranquil grounds of Jealotts Hill Community Landshare, searching for signs that fairies might be nearby…

Our journey will lead us to the Mini Nature Artists Garden, transformed especially for the occasion. Here, children can explore at their own pace and take part in a range of fairy-inspired creative activities, including:

  • Building fairy houses using natural and recycled materials
  • Making fairy wands and crowns
  • Exploring the garden, set up to reflect the fairy theme

This is a relaxed, family-led session - there’s no rush and no expectation to do everything. Children are free to move between activities, follow their curiosity and immerse themselves in imaginative play.

📸 Special addition this year

Following the success of last year’s event, we’re delighted to welcome Claire Drillingcourt, a local children’s photographer who specialises in capturing natural, outdoor moments.

Claire’s approach is all about real smiles - the ones that appear when children are relaxed, playing, and being themselves. She’ll be offering gentle, informal photo opportunities throughout the session, capturing children in the magic of the moment rather than posed or staged shots.

✨ Dressing up is very welcome - wings, crowns, cloaks and fairy finery encouraged!

🌼 Important information

  • This is a whole-family event - children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult
  • Please bring snacks and drinks with you
  • The session takes place outdoors, so dress for the weather
  • Suitable for a range of ages

A gentle morning of storytelling, creativity, nature and connection - perfect for families who love imaginative play and the outdoors.
