First Steps in Fiction
Ready to bring your stories to life? This beginner-friendly course guides you through the essentials of fiction writing, from developing compelling characters to crafting engaging plots. Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to refine your skills, take your first steps toward writing with confidence!
Tutor: Sandra Ireland
Sandra Ireland is the author of five novels and is currently working on a non-fiction commission about the legend of Lady Godiva. She has also enjoyed success with poetry, winning the Glasgow Women’s Library Bold Types Competition in 2022, and the SAW Dorothy Dunbar trophy in 2016 and 2017. In addition to running creative writing courses in association with Lifelong Learning Dundee, Sandra works with various arts charities to provide therapeutic writing workshops in the community.
