Fish Surveyor Training
Training to join the volunteers working on our Fish of the Medway project, monitoring fish in salt marshes across the Medway estuary.
Hosted by Raybel Charters on the Barge Raybel.
Morning session on the project, theory of sampling methods and safety considerations. Afternoon session to practice deployment of the relevant nets and equipment.
Practical event considerations
- Practical clothing required and wellies recommended for the afternoon.
- Please bring your own lunch as it is not provided.
Considerations of volunteering
- Please be aware that you need to be comfortable handling live fish while surveying.
- All volunteers will be provided chest waders but should be fit and able (if you are able to climb a style)
- Volunteers must be 18 or over.
