Programme From 10.00am: registration and refreshments 10.30am-12.30pm: Part One ‘Understanding history and society’ tracing the unfolding role of discourse in the relationship between helping professionals and LGBT+ people. Part Two: Standing back and positioning ourselves 12.30pm-1.15pm Lunch 1.15pm-2.30pm: Part Three: ‘Mapping the contemporary landscape’ in terms of recent legal outcomes, ethical questions and professional responses/codes of practice. Part Four: ‘Towards affirmative practice’: considering what works and how this aligns with personal styles of working.
