Squad Tryouts are taking place at Guildford Spectrum
To gain a coveted place in the display squad team your child is invited to a FREE squad tryout at Club Spectrum.
The coaches will contact you after your Trial to let you know if your child has been successful.
Children must be 8 yrs+
What will my child gain from being a squad member?
- Regional Competitions
- Displays at selected events
- Advance at pace through the syllabus with the longer sessions.
- Choreography and acro skills on top of gymnastics.
- Form new friendships with a bunch of great kids.
- Internal competitions
What are we looking for at the Squad Tryouts?
- Gymnast must have a good understanding of basic gymnastics skills and be able to recognise/perform them with ease.
- Gymnast should have begun training or already be able to perform our higher demand skills e.g. round off/standing flicks, round off/standing tuck backs, front somersaults, handsprings and free cartwheels.
- Gymnast should be able to keep up with and maintain and good level of conditioning and strength training.
- Gymnast should have the desire and passion to improve in the sport, showing this through enthusiasm.
- Gymnast should be eager to participate in squad competitions in or out of house to represent our club.
- Gymnast should be capable of performing good standard vaults.
- Gymnast should perform all skills to the best of their ability e.g. neatly in the correct shapes, solid landings, good flexibility
- Gymnast should have a good level of previous experience.
- Gymnast should be age 8 or above.
- Gymnast should be able to learn and remember a complex routine as part of the “Display Squad”.
