Join artist and Weave Raisa Kabir to create a sustainable artwork on an ancient loom using recycled textiles.

Starting as a conversation at Bootle Library in 2020, Raisa Kabir, Rule of Threes, community growers of Taking Root and local people spent a year exploring Linacre’s history of growing flax and agricultural together. Meet us at the library to bring Raisa Kabir’s flax growing and weaving project “a field of flax” full circle.Bringing the project to a close, you are invited to join us to weave a collective artwork using recycled materials, on an ancient style warp weighted loom. You are welcome to bring along textiles you would no longer wish to keep and give them new purpose and life in our artwork.During the session, we will use the loom to connect the threads between our heritage and sustainable future, thinking about the textiles industry and its impact on the planet, and people globally.Everyone is welcome, everything is free.
