We’re hosting another FLUXCON on Saturday 8th October from 12noon until 5pm at 7SVN on Upper Trinity Street, Digbeth

October is Black Futures Month, so like we usually do when we get together, we’ll be celebrating the radical imagination and creativity of the Black and brown community through sonic sounds, cosmic comics, capoeira sessions, live cosplay drawing, Pan-African dance, real talk, star talk, exploring the theme of SPACE, and what that means to you here, now, then and in the futureWe warmly welcome everyone of all ages to come along and discover the space to be yourself and connect with other Fluxians through creative expression.*﻿FLUXCON will be joined by friends from across Birmingham and the UK, convening at 7SVN, a black-owned, community-based venue in the heart of the creative quarter of Digbeth that supports events that other places don’t even consider.S﻿CHEDULEA﻿ll day - Expo, space-themed cosplay, music, food, conversations12.30 - 21 pirates drawing skills, 1.5hrs1.45pm - Diana as Asase Yaa, performance 4 mins 2pm - Capoeira with denise, 1.5hrs3.30pm - Wavey Lines, 1hr3.35pm - Diana hoop dance, 7mins3.45pm - Panel / Speaker, 40 mins4.30pm - Quiz, 30 mins5pm - Finish*﻿A﻿bout the EXPO Explore the work of makers from across Birmingham and around the UK. FLUXCON is a platform for self exploration, freedom and creative expression, and we warmly welcome your application to sell what you make or to lend a helping hand. All Welcome! <a href="http://afroflux.org/get-involved" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">afroflux.org/get-involved</a>*﻿A﻿bout the theme of SPACEIn the ‘Observatory’ room, we’ll be having off-world conversations, discussing anything from our favourite characters from outer space to how do we resource spaces like FLUXCON to Octavia Butler’s destiny of Earthseed, whether we ‘take root among the stars’ or settle in to home on earth, and what that really means. *﻿T﻿ICKETSTickets for FLUXCON are available on a PAYF (Pay As You Feel) basis, with a recommended sliding scale of £2 - £12 per ticket. We want anyone to be able to attend without the pressure of paying a certain amount, with totally free tickets also available, but if you are able to put some money behind your ticket, however small or big, all donations will go towards helping to make next year&#x27;s event happen in a way that keeps it accessible to many people.FLUXCON is not-for-profit, proudly offering an access fund for stallholders, free activities on the day and paying practitioners hosting sessions.Thanks for your interest and we look forward to welcoming you on the day!
