An opportunity to contribute to the CIPD response to the government consultation on Flexible Working

This focus group is being held to gather CIPD members&#x27; views on the current government consultation on Flexible Working. We are collecting Member feedback through a large survey and different regional focus groups to explore the issues in more detail. The consultation closes on 1 December and CIPD will submit a comprehensive response based on our evidence. The Flexible Working consultation sets out five proposals for reshaping the existing regulatory framework so that it better supports the objective of making flexible working the default. The intention is to better support employees to start the conversation about contract changes, and employers to respond. The five areas we would like to get your views on from this focus group discussion are: • making the Right to Request Flexible Working a day one right; • whether the eight business reasons for refusing a Request all remain valid; • requiring the employer to suggest alternatives; • the administrative process underpinning the Right to Request Flexible Working; and • requesting a temporary arrangement.If you would like to take up the opportunity to contribute your views to the CIPD response then please do book a place at this online event.
