FOCUS creates the opportunity for screen sector companies in Scotland to access sector specific business advice and support.The project is delivered byFilm City Futuresin partnership withScottish Documentary Institute, and supported byScreen Scotland.A sector review found that screen business were not always able to access the business development expertise that they need in order to achieve significant growth.FOCUS wants to change this, by supporting screen sector companies to gain access to the sector-specific business development expertise that they need from experts in production, law, HR, book scouting, sales and distribution, and other areas.We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering for events, expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our services or otherwise contacting us.

How can film and television production companies effectively prepare for the aftermath of Brexit?</h3>According to BFI, Brexit and the end of the current transition period will significantly change the way UK businesses interact with the EU - including those working in the film and TV industries.In this webinar we'll be joined Clare McGarry and Poppy Lucas - associates at legal firm Harbottle &amp; Lewis - who'll be discussing the key impacts of leaving the EU that will affect the screen sector. Clare works with a range of clients in the film, television, and theatre industries, from small independent producers to large international streamers, and also advises rightsholders on the protection and exploitation of their rights.Clare’s practice spans the entire lifecycle of a film or television project, from assisting clients with the development stage, through to production and the distribution of their work, as well as with other related aspects, such commissioning deals and chain of title issues. She advises both business and individuals, predominately within the media, entertainment, sport and technology sector.Poppy advised on all facets of employment law from high value employment-related litigation, executive appointment and terminations to business reorganisations, relocations and workplace closures. She is highly experienced in advising on day-to-day HR matters including performance management, disciplinary and grievance issues, worker status, and drafting &amp; negotiating contracts and handbooks.Poppy’s practice also focusses on the business aspects of immigration law and the right to work in the UK.
